For Corey:Reflecting on the passing of a community member.
I had not given myself the space to really stop and acknowledge that the last time I saw him, so many years ago, was the last time I would be able to do so. I watched from afar how he started to really live in his own artistic freedom and expression.
Corey Ware of Bay City, Texas was a willing muse when I needed the most support. We stayed up late, drove with around our small town looking for picturesque scenes, talked and inspired each other to explore our creativity.
I had begun to organize the portraits of the folks I had considered muses and inspirers some years ago. I wanted to celebrate them and acknowledge their impact on me whether it be arts related or not. Corey was one of those persons and he did not know it, but now you do.
