Trek [To A Distant Place]

Site specific sculpture created as a three-dimensional landscape painting. A painting that would play with the viewers perspective, placing them within the trees looking out at a hazy destination off in the distance. Eyes float over trees and into the distance which holds lightly illuminates frost-tipped mountain tops.
The sculpture highlights the temporality of our beautiful landscapes and environments. In the surrounding locality deforestation is rapidly removing the lush environment. The installation examines how a location continues to welcome travelers to a space which is currently and constantly being depleted of the atmospheric values which initially beaconed their arrival.
